Logistics Manager

The Cary Company is seeking a highly organized and self motivated individual to support our Addison, IL office and warehouse. The ideal applicant needs to have an extremely strong work ethic. This position is perfect for those who thrive on managing multiple tasks while be able to find ways to enhance and improve our existing system and processes. We are seeking a candidate with strong business acumen. The candidate will be required to think beyond the immediate scope of the job, and understand the larger picture of the company.

Duties

  • Oversee logistics department and team
  • Assist with spot quoting, routing, updating rates
  • Handling claims and negotiating rates (LTL and Truckload)
  • Oversee and build relationships with our carriers and customers
  • Assist our Quality Assurance and Customer Service Departments
  • Use innovation and creativity in developing new processes and procedures
  • Interface with couriers, office personnel and management in response to requests or to ensure service commitments are met
  • Work with our eCommerce team to improve rating efficiencies and technology
  • Work with CFO and VP of Operations to develop supply chain improvements

Requirements:

  • Associates or Bachelors degree (Preferred)
  • Strong Business Acumen
  • Ability to successfully multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong follow-up skills, attention to detail, and time management
  • A strong work ethic with a positive “can-do” attitude and one who takes pride in the quality of their work
  • This position requires an individual who is self-directed and detail-oriented with an inquisitive nature and desire to solve problems
  • Sound knowledge about logistics
  • Strong knowledge about warehouse functions
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
