Location: Addison, IL — Onsite
Department: IT / Innovation
Reports to: Technical Manager; partners closely with the AI Integration Engineer & Associate Project Manager
About the role
We’re looking for a hands‑on builder who can turn department requests into working automations and lightweight AI tools quickly. You’ll handle the “80% use cases” that don’t require deep platform engineering—connecting systems, creating GPT‑powered workflows, and delivering quick wins that make work easier across Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Marketing, and Finance. This role is onsite to enable rapid collaboration, whiteboarding, and fast pilots with internal teams.
What you’ll do
- Build and maintain no‑code/low‑code automations (Zapier, Make, Power Automate, Airtable)
- Create small internal “copilots” and assistants that call LLM APIs for drafting, summarizing, data lookups, and form workflows
- Write simple Python scripts and micro‑services to glue systems together and call vendor APIs
- Integrate automations with core platforms: NetSuite, Magento, Listrak, Microsoft 365/SharePoint/Teams, and common CRMs/help desks
- Translate business requests into clear requirements and user stories with the TPM; document SOPs and handoffs
- Pilot solutions with small user groups, gather feedback onsite, iterate, and roll out broadly
- Monitor reliability and errors; set up alerts and basic observability for automations
- Partner with the AI Integration Engineer on components that require secure coding or enterprise integration patterns
Must‑have qualifications
- 2–5 years building automations or internal tools in a business setting
- Demonstrated experience with at least two of: Zapier, Make, Power Automate, Airtable, Notion, Google Apps Script (or similar)
- Working knowledge of Python for scripting, API calls, and simple data transforms
- Comfortable reading API docs, working with webhooks, OAuth, and JSON
- Strong documentation habits and the ability to explain solutions to non‑technical teammates
- Bias for action—you ship small, test fast, and improve
Nice‑to‑have
- Experience calling LLMs via API (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic) and handling prompts, context windows, and guardrails
- Familiarity with NetSuite, Magento, Listrak, Power BI, or Microsoft Graph
- Basic understanding of RAG, embeddings, and vector stores for internal search
- Light UI skills for internal tools (e.g., Streamlit, Retool, Power Apps, simple React)
- Version control with Git and comfort working in a lightweight SDLC
What success looks like in 90 days
- 3–5 high‑impact automations live with measurable time savings
- An intake → build → pilot → rollout workflow documented with the TPM
- A reusable library of connectors, prompts, and templates
- Clear runbooks and ownership for each automation, including monitoring and rollback steps
Tools you’ll use
Zapier, Make, Power Automate, Airtable • Python, Git • OpenAI/Azure OpenAI APIs • Microsoft 365/Teams/SharePoint • Integrations with NetSuite, Magento, and Listrak as needed
Compensation
